Hi!! An update for a change.
Well this one won't interest a lot english-speaking people since I'm uploading a french fanfiction.

Don't worry, they will be translated one day, but not immediately. I want to finish some chapters first :3

Voici donc les premiers chapitres d'une série d'histoires courtes toutes axées sur un même thème. Bien que je leur donnent le nom de chapitres, il n'y a pas de liens entre elles, ceci-dit elles se suivent chronologiquement.

Ce sont des fanfictions sur l'univers de Saint Seiya, et se déroulent au XXIIe siècle et relate la future Guerre Sainte du Sanctuaire.
Pour faire un lien avec l'histoire écrite par Kurumada, je rappelle que cela s'est finie par la mort d'Hades. Théoriquement, il ne devrait plus y avoir de Guerre Sainte ni de réincarnation d'Athena, puisque Hades ne menace plus la Terre. Hors, une nouvelle incarnation est apparue, sans qu'aucune trace de Hades ne soit apparue.

Les premiers chapitres ne donnent aucune information complémentaire sur la trame principale, elle sert à introduire les personnages.

Another no-updates-for-weeks record xD

Spring!!

A wonderful season, where our Goddess of Nature, after a disappearance of several long months, came back to her lovers.
A wonderful season, where birds came back from their warm vacancies in the south, chanting the joy and delightful existence.
A wonderful season, where flourish around the place flowers and trees, bringing colours to our sinister every day life.

At least for the lucky people living in cities, who have NOT to take care of a dreadful garden of 1.5 acre (around 0.6 hectare or 6,000 m² *)!!
I killed myself by duelling weeds, fighting with dandelion's roots, helping my parents in wood sawing (they cut my favourite cherry tree T_T), and various boring and tiring activities to help the place to acquire the right to be called "garden" again.
At least, one of my brother was present to give a hand (meaning : he didn't succeed to flee from work). As a result, my house is like an hospital's room : 3 to 4 people with backache ^^; (included : me)

It's not over, we can't do everything in one day. So we'll be back next week-end ;.;

Ok, stop ranting now.
the return of D.Gray-man last month has awaken my love for this manga, I feel the urge to make new colour pages. And now Maximum7 is translating with Binktopia, which means a greaaaat quality ^^

Yeah, that's my current craziness.


I work on portrait this time.
Basically, it was to work on the heads and to settle the colours I'll use for the next arts.

Obviously I choose my favourite characters.
And even more obviously, it's Denmark the only one which is a success (ancestors' blood is burning!! xD)
I fail France's hair and Germany's face.

The 1st loved character is Russia. I LOVE his threatening behaviour. Second is our favourite pervert France
I love the way Germany is the only one character more or less normal in this bunch of hopeless guys...
And Denmark is just perfectly cool! I love his uniform too
(Yeah, still with this old uniform fetishism... )

I fond of mythology since I'm really young.

It was first about Egypt. Then Greek, Roman, and it ended with Celtic and Scandinavian.
If I look at it closely, with the age, I was more and more interested by the mythology of my ancestors.
As a French, Celtic mythology is something quite natural. But I knew quite early that I was mixed blood, from Belgium, Germany and Denmark, then culturally I've clear Celtic roots.
Another reason could be my passion about medieval fantastic. Playing an assassin or a viking in a role play is really exciting XD

And discovering Vinland Saga manga just make things worse!! XDD

Unusual, but this post will be for the french-speaking people.
The first volume of Vinland Saga was published in France & Belgium last week, this is a review of the book.

Et oui, aujourd'hui France, Belgique et Navarre peuvent enfin se vanter de pouvoir tenir entre leur fébriles mimines le premier volume de cet excellent manga de Makoto Yukimura.
Sa première série éditée en français fut Planètes, un manga qui se déroulait dans l'espace et racontait les tranche de vie de membres d'une station de nettoyage.

Là, changement de décor total. Nous partons réviser nos cours d'histoire sur les Vikings ayant ratissé la France et toute l'Europe du Nord jusqu'en Russie, du IXe au XIe siècle.
Sur fond de conquête de l'Angleterre par les Danois entre 990 et 1035 environ, nous découvrons l'histoire d'une jeune garçon, Thorfinn, qui se voue à la vengeance de son père, assassiné par un chef viking, Askeladd. Pour mieux traquer et vaincre son ennemi, il joint son groupe.

Tout d'abord l'histoire : Ya pas à dire, certains pourrons rechigner quelques détails purement matériels (et encore je les cherche toujours personnellement), l'auteur s'est sacrément renseigné et décrit la vie de ces mercenaires scandinaves avec précision et exactitude.
L'auteur évite les lieux communs. Par exemple, ne cherchez pas de "drakkar". En fait, ce nom est inventé au XIXe siècle par les poètes scandinaves de la Période Romantique. Vous trouverez plus "vaisseau de guerre" ou "langship", le nom exact. Le mode de vie et les coutumes des scandinaves sont présenté proprement, sans fard ni enjoliveurs pour rendre les scènes 'dramatiques'. Certains le sont déjà assez d'eux même... Quant aux faits historiques, l'essence est conservée. Il reprend très bien les événements tels que les historiens nous les ont transcrits.

La traduction semble être soignée. Pour ce que je me souviens de la version anglaise qu'on peu trouver sur le net (je n'ai jamais lue la trad' fr de la Berserk Crew :3), elle est exacte et propre. La lecture est agréable, on se sens réellement plongé dans les paroles.
L'esprit est conservé dans les tournures de phrases, rendant le texte réaliste (le langage un chouilla 'gaillard' d'Askeladd, celui plus posé de son oncle). Et tout les "hors-bulles" sont bien traduits. Ce qui est important car l'auteur en écrit pas mal en tout petit à côté des persos. De plus, la mise en page est excellente. On ne voit pas que ça a été retravaillé pour coller à l'écriture française, et les hors-bulles s'intègrent naturellement.
On pourra néanmoins reprocher une taille de police un peu large. Je ne pense pas que le taux de myopes en France soit si élevé XD

L'impression met en valeur le superbe coup de crayon de l'auteur. Les pages sont blanches et propres. On n'a pas l'impression de toucher du recyclé et l'encre ne bave pas, comme on peut voir chez Glénat en particulier T__T
Les pages couleurs ont été conservées. Et croyez-moi, ça en jette plus que les scans, même de haute qualité, que l'on trouve sur le net.
Le format d'origine est gardé, pour un confort de lecture agréable ^^ La couverture est soignée, avec le titre et le personnage principal en 'vernis'. Et on a droit à la couverture de la seconde édition de Vinland Saga (en effet, L'auteur a changé de "crèmerie" en cours de parution, il y a eu donc une réédition avec changement de couverture, et tant mieux car elles sont plus belles)

Bref, Kurokawa ne s'est pas moqué de nous. Pour un prix convenable et justifié de 7,50€ nous avons là une traduction qui fait honneur à l'auteur et à son œuvre.
Je ne peux que vous recommander de vous jeter sur votre libraire et de ne le lâcher que quand il vous aura fourni un exemplaire :p
(l'étouffez pas ou vous n'aurez pas le volume deux, quand même XD)
